A tall Eyptian obelisk in the square of St John Lateran in Rome. In the background are the ruins of an aquaduct, to the right, a three-storied palace, and beyond to the right, the building housing the Scala Santa
Other Titles - Egyptian obelisk. This was raised by Sixtus V in the Square of Saint John Lateran. 1. Palace built by Sixtus V now the Conservatory of Zitelle. 2. The Sacred Stairs. 3. Ruins of ancient aquaducts [translation]
