Description: Drawing of the Clapper lark (mirafra apiata) on a branch. The plumage is black, yellow and white. The crown of the head is black, the plumage turning to white on the rest of the head, breast, top of the back and shoulder of the wing. The rest of the wing is black and there is a broad black band across the back. The lower back extending to the tail is yellowish black. The underparts are yellow. The bill is black. Description: Drawing of the male and female thick-billed seed finch (probably Oryzoborus funerius) on branches. The male bird on the left is black with a brown bill and a narrow strip of white at the front of the wing. The female bird on the right is olive green with a brown bill. Oryzoborus funerius was first described by Sclater in 1859. The species name niger was not used. Other Titles - Oryzoborus funerius.
