Shows Sir Robert Muldoon as the devil with horns, tail, and a battered pitchfork. Possibly refers to Jim McLay's ousting by Jim Bolger as leader of the National Party in 1987, or at least to Jim McLay's wane in popularity.
Exhibited in 'A Bit of Cheek: The Many Faces of Muldoon' an exhibition organised by the New Zealand Cartoon Archive Trust in association with the Alexander Turnbull Library, late 1992-1994.
Muldoon was replaced by Jim McLay as leader of the National Party in 1985.
