The cartoonist tries to exchange or spend New Zealand currency in Australia. In the first three vignettes, he is knocked back trying to get rid of NZ pounds. In the last he is playing on poker machines at a sports club, and comments 'Thank heavens for the machine age!' as the machines take NZ coins.
