A whare or small European house, with thatched roof and a slab chimney at one end, beneath a tall tree to the left, with two Maori outside it. Bush and low hills, with a higher slope on the left reaching up to a sharp point, its sides eroded, beyond the house

Likely to be in the South Wairarapa, close to the artist's farm
