- Description
Looking north west from the SupremeCourt, Auckland, along Waterloo Quadrant to the Northern Club. Government House grounds are on the left. The wooden house in the foreground belonged to Dr Thomas Kenderdine. Eden Street is the street in the foreground. Parliament Street intersected behind the Supreme Court into Eden Crescent, which is on the right. Cargen Hotel is in Eden Crescent, and St Paul's Church is also on the right. Taken by an unidentified photographer ca 1880.
The former Parliament Street wa redeveloped when Anzac Avenue was built. Eden Street was renamed Parliament Street in 1936 to commemorate the old Parliament Buildings that used to stand there.
