Two Maori women and a man seated outside a tent, with another person (possibly a European male) inside the tent. A low whare and palisade to the right with a river to the left and further palisades in the distance, suggesting a relatively large pa site. One of the women is smoking a pipe.
Possibly further south in the Rangitikei area, where Park was carrying out survey work
