Ohinemutu village in the foreground with steam vents rising amongst Maori dwellings. Lake Rotorua beyond and Mokoia Island rising in the distance with the far shore of Rotorua Lake beyond the island. The reference to Hinemoa and Tutanekai is to a Maori legend.
