View looking down Church Street (now known as Elliot Street) with the Royal Hotel on the right; McCready & Love (tailors), Mechanics Institute; dentist, saddler, and other businesses on the left. The Masonic Hotel can be seen in the far distance on the left. Two women are standing at the entrance to the Mechanics Institute; a pram is on the footpath outside the dentist; a horse and cart are heading towards the photographer.
