A Maori fishing camp in the foreground with two large tents, a drying rack for fish and a long canoe with two sails pulled up at a beach. A further similar canoe in the background along with a smaller canoe. Maori men, women and children busy in the foreground on the beach. Trees close to the waterfront and the cone of Rangitoto, Auckland's dormant volcanic island, in the background.
