Invitations from Governor Gore Browne, theatre ticket, other invitations and progammes, issued to members of the Heather family, living at Remuera, Auckland, and to Miss Brown, apparently a family member. Includes undated letter to Miss Brown from Kate Heaphy.

Internal evidence suggests that the papers belonged to the Heather family, who lived in Remuera, and who were of high enough social standing to be invited to the Governor's receptions, and who were invited to investiture at Buckingham Palace. Auckland businessman, Arthur Heather married Mary Matilda Brown/Browne.
