Photograph taken by the Steffano Webb Photographic Studio, Christchurch, of a two storey wooden private residence located at 28 Gloucester Street, Christchurch.
The building was used as a boarding house between circa1930s-1940s. In 1947 the house came under the managment of Canterbury Education Board to be used as a cerebral palsy school and base for the University of Canterbury Education Department. By 1957 it housed the university Adult Education centre. In 1975 it became the first building of the Four Avenues alternative state high school in Christchurch.
