The mural by John Drawbridge was created for the New Zealand pavillion at the international exhibition, Osaka, Japan, 1970. It was then stored until it was installed in the foyer of the National Library, Wellington, where it's original colours were changed by the artist. It was displayed in the foyer between the mid 1980's and 2012.
