Description

Shows five men in formal morning dress, with pinstripe trousers, black tailed jackets with floral buttonholes. Four of them cluster around a fifth who has fainted. One applies an icepack (saying "Good old Ede! Shall I ring for a small gargle?), one prepares a hypodermic needle (saying "This'll make him sit up! Wot O!"), and the two others try to stop him from falling. Speech bubbles from one man indicate that the fainted man is Ede. The label on his collar reads "Edric". Two of the other men are due to be married in a month or two according to their speech bubbles.

Title supplied by the vendor.

Men by the name of Ede who married in 1910 include: Arthur Stephen Ede (Seatoun labourer), and Frederick Arthur Ede (carpenter, possibly of Picton). It is likely that Bowring was living in Wellington by this time. The surname Edric is not found in Wises directories for the period.
