Shows a view across fields and farms, and several houses and buildings, towards One Tree Hill in the right distance.
Notes on the backing board recto identify the two-storeyed house with verandah in the centre as Rocklands in Gillies Avenue. Mount St John's is the hill at the left, and the house on that hill is given as 27 Mt St John's Avenue (possibly called "Prospect"?). Next on the right is identified as possibly the Hesketh house which burned down. Streets are identified as Ranfurly Road, Gillies Road, and Manukau Road.
