Extract from letter from Selwyn to his father and brother, St John's College, 1 Dec 1848; part of letter about his writing ability; part of letter, Mrs Selwyn to C A Palmer, Government House, Auckland, 6 May 1849; printed letter to Selwyn from E Coleridge with copy of Selwyn's letters written on the `Undine', New Hebrides, and from St John's College, 1849; part of letter, C H A to Mrs Hudson, from St John's College, 15 Aug 1850; copy of letter from Selwyn to Rev Harry Dupuis from Wairarapa Valley, 5 Mar 1853; account in the form of a letter to his father by Selwyn concluding a description of his visit to the Friendly Islands, written on the `Undine'; letter to his father, written on the `Undine' off Kawhia, and describing his time in Samoa, with ink drawings of various parts of Samoa including a thatched cabin canoe

Also letter to his brother, William, and also John, begun at Kawau Island, 31 Aug 1858, bringing his journal from 6 Feb to 7 Jul 1858 up to date and written at Nelson, Wellington, the Chatham Islands, Norfolk Island, Loyalty Islands, and various locations in the New Hebrides and the Solomon Islands. A further series of journal entries continue from Tasiki and other locations in the New Hebrides and the Solomon Islands from 15-29 May. It is not clear if the entries are part of a letter or simply a journal. Also signature of Selwyn, pencil sketch of area near Kaikohe and notice of publication of Selwyn's, 'The Work of Christ in the world' (3rd ed).
