- Description
Shows Leslie Hills Station in the Hurunui district, being the sheep and cattle station of George Rutherford. The single storey verandahed homestead with circular carriage drive, is placed on the gentle slope of a small hill, with neatly fenced fields and outbuildings to the left and right. At the left is a group of six conical haystacks. Several horses feed from a covered feed trough at the left. In the centre a horseman meets with a carriage drawn by two horses, one black and one white. In the far right foreground a group of longhorned cattle is grazing, and beyond, a figure is training two horses. A dark cloud at top left, brings a fleeting shower, but most of the farm basks in sunshine.
