Description

The New Zealand Minister of Maori Affairs, Parekura Horomia, shows off the new name 'Taniwha TV' on a television screen. A taniwha is a creature from Maori mythology.

There was a wide belief at the time this cartoon was drawn that Maori television would never start broadcasting. This was proved wrong not long afterwards
