Mural on the wall of Wellington Provincial Centennial Memorial, Petone. Shows part of a mural depicting the arrival of European settlers in Petone in 1840, including encounters with the Maori people. Photograph taken after 1940, by William Hall Raine for the Free Lance.
1840-1940 settlers memorial on Petone foreshore designed by H L Massey in 1939. Features a replica of the `Aurora'. Converted into the Petone Settlers Museum, in stages, between 1977-1989.
