Description

26 ft mullet boat Celox sailing on Waitemata Harbour. Photograph taken ca 1915 by James Hutchings Kinnear of Auckland.

Celox was built in 1908 by the Logan Brothers of Auckland for W Percy. The photograph was taken after November 1914, when the permanent regisrtration number that she is carrying was assigned. At this time she was owned by Messrs George & Couldrey, hence her racing flag, the cross of St George. (Information from Robin Elliott, 25 October 2000).
