- Description
Men bagging gum chips in Kaitaia for shipment to Auckland. The gum had been retrieved by gum washing machines near Awanui and was of inferior quality compared to that dug from the ranges and flats. It was sold for 9/- per cwt. Taken by Arthur Northwood circa 1914.
