Description

A portrait of three young Maori women, two of whom are identified as Taapu Winiata and Rawinia Wamikau. They are all wearing korowai (tag cloaks), and have moko, and the woman in the middle is holding a wahaika (type of patu). The two on the the left have short hair. Photograph taken by William Henry Thomas Partington, probably at Aramoho.

Other - These women are identified as Aramoho girls; Te Kuia Whairei, Kawirue and Te Whaikaeu in "Te Awa; Partington photographs of Whanganui Maori" (p 36)

Other - These women are also seen in the image at 1/1-003131, with the two women on the left having changed places.
