Description

A crowd, surrounding a war monument on the corner of Molesworth Street and Lambton Quay, Wellington. Top left are Parliament Buildings and the General Assembly Library. Top right is the Artcraft Theatre. Houses on and around Hill Street can be seen in the distance. Photograph taken by Sydney Charles Smith in 1928.

This monument was later replaced by the Centotaph on a site to the left of this photograph.
