Typescript of shipboard diary kept by W J Macdermott on the `Waitangi', transcribed by his grand-daughter, Mrs Haase. The last part of the diary has been lost and the entries cover the period 1 Aug-20 Oct 1874; the Waitangi arrived at Auckland on 17 Nov 1874. Also copy of the Macdermott's passenger contract ticket. Biographical notes on W J Macdermott compiled by Mrs Haase.
