Poupou (carved upright slabs forming the solid framework of the walls of a Maori house), tukutuku (Maori ornamental lattice work) and kowhaiwhai (Maori painted ornamentation, usually on the rafters of a meeting house) in the porch of Te Tokanganui-a-Noho meeting house in Te Kuiti. Photograph taken by Augustus Hamilton circa 1910.
