Shows the curve of Palliser Bay looking towards Cape Palliser, with a Maori pa in the left middle distance. Several canoes are drawn up on the land, standing on supports, and several fences have been erected near a dwelling. A European rowing boat (partially erased) is in the sea at the right.

Brees, Brees' descendant had lived in Sussex
