Whakatane township with rocky ciffs behind, photographed by William Archer Price circa 1910s. Looks along a street with the Whakatane Hotel on the right and the premises of the New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Company on the left. Apparently taken at an unidentified special occasion, with a large crowd gathered in the street between the Loan & Mercantile Company Agency building and the hills in the background. A young girl wearing a wide-brimmed hat, knee-length dress, and socks & shoes, is standing in the centre foreground.
