Group in the Oak Bar of the Broadway Hotel, Maclaggan Street, Dunedin, farewelling Otago Daily Times cartoonist Keith Waite (9th from left) the day before his departure for Britain.
Those present are from left - (1) Jack Shepherd, Otago Daily Times photographer. (2) Clark Isaccs, then cadet reporter and later Otago Daily Times chief of (reporting) staff. (3) Glenn Hunter, a young Dunedin businessman. (4) Bill Morrison, Senior reporter and City Council roundsman (Clark Isaccs uncle). (5) Keith Eunson, reporter and later Editor of the Otago Daily Times. (6) John Spedding, chief reporter and drama critic. (7) John Moffett, Editor of the Otago Daily Times. (8) Gordon Buchanan, associate editor of the Otago Daily Times. (9) Keith Waite. (10) Brian/or Bryan Meek general reporter on the Otago Daily Times. (11) Bill Campbell, junior reporter. (12) Noel Miller, journalist on the Otago Daily Times. (13) Eric Papps, journalist on the Otago Daily Times, and later sub-editor. (14) Clarrie Buchols, Otago Daily Times reading room. Keith Waite worked on Fleet street as a cartoonist for the Mirror, the Sun and the Times.
