Description

Second-formers from Mount Cook School meet Hemi Potatau, patron of the Te Reo Maori Society. Photographed by Evening Post staff photographer Ross Giblin on the 28th of June 1978.

Hemi Potatau was presenting a petition to Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan, MP for Southern Maori calling for a Maori television production unit to be set up. The boys from Mount Cook School attended the presentation as part of their studies on government and "the ways to effect changes."
