Pamphlet prepared for the Lyttelton by-election of 1933 discusses the government's unemployment policy, resulting in a shortage of food, shortage of clothing and shortage of fuel. The number of registered unemployed stood at over 80,000. The back page explains the stance of candidate Elizabeth McCombs. The by-election was to take place on 13 September 1933.
