View to one side of the Pink Terraces, looking across them towards Lake Rotomahana, with the White Terraces also visible in the background.
Dated 1889, but copied by the artist from his own paintings done before 10 June 1886, when the eruption of Mount Tarawera destroyed the Pink and White Terraces
Reproduced as a Turnbull Library Print, 1985, as one of three oils of the Pink and White Terraces by Blomfield. Edition of 3000 sold out ca 1995.
