Mobile crane on the site of the Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington, New Zealand, photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer 3 April 1980.
At the time that this photograph was taken, this crane was the biggest mobile crane in New Zealand. It was about 87 metres high, could extend its boom over 130 metres, weighed 180 tonnes, and was worth nearly $1,000,000. It was owned by Fletcher Construction Ltd.
