1939 Diamond T coach built for Hutley's Motors, Awanui, Northland outside the Wellington Technical College at the rear of the Dominion Museum, Wellington. It has the words "Kia Kaha" painted on the roof. Photograph taken circa 1939 by Frank Barker.

The coach is a '1939' Diamond T built for Hutley's Motors Awanui by Crawley Ridley & Co Ltd, Taranaki Street, Wellington. Hutley's business was taken over by NZR Road Services in 1943 but this coach passed to Newman Bros North Island Ltd, was re-engined with an International motor and later operated by the Hawke's Bay Motor Company before disappearing from sight. The chassis under this vehicle was slightly earlier than 1939 and had been in Cavanagh's workshop in Symonds Street, Auckland, receiving a coach body for Edwards Motors Ltd when Cavangh's premises were destroyed by fire. The chassis was re-built by the insurers with updated front-end sheet metal and sold to Charlie Hutley who railed it to Wellington for bodying.
