- Description
A security guard has the Olympic flame carrier in an armlock, and has brought him before the police chief who has leapt up from his desk in alarm. The Mexican authorities were concerned that student unrest might endanger security at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Ten days before the opening of the Games the authorities opened fire on a group of 10,000 who were protesting expenditure on the Games instead of on the poor, killing 260 and wounding 1200 demonstrators.
