Pirongia Mountain in the left background and the volcanic cone of Kakepuku to the right. A line of trees in the middle distance, flax and low scrub in the foreground, with part of the fenceline of Rarowera Pā on the right (also known as Raroera Pā).
Rarowera Pa was on what is now Wallace Terrace, about a mile from the centre of modern Te Awamutu
