Includes views sketched during a trip in April 1885, of Preservation Inlet from the "Stella", Puysegur Sound, Dusky Sound, Breaksea Sound, Dea's Cove, Thompson Sound, Charles Sound, Caswell's Sound, Lookinglass Bay, George Sound, Bligh Sound, Poisson Bay, Sutherland Sound, Pembroke from south of Milford, Lion Mountain, Milford Sound, Sealer's Cove and Benton Peak, Kaipo, Mount Argentum, Jacksons Bay, Mahitahi, Cook Bluff, Cook from Gillespies Bluff, Okarito, Lake Waihapo, Rangitipo-Otira, Mount Rolleston, Lake Pearson, Governor's Bay (Lyttelton Harbour).
The cover title also mentions Rolleston and Christchurch but these are not shown (although Governor's Bay is near Christchurch).
