Description

An essay on the life of James Preston, son of Vicar of Warcop, Westmorland, who emigrated to Australia in 1853 and to New Zealand in 1855. He returned to England and married Anna Bradley on the Isle of Man in 1860. The couple returned to Canterbury on the `Harwood' in Sep 1860. Ordained in the Church of England in 1870 and appointed Mission Deacon of Geraldine Parochial District and later Vicar of Gerladine and Curate of Burkes Pass.
