Description

A headland in the foreground with low scrub and stones, looking along the waterfront past Commercial Bay, part of Lower Queen Street with the new wharf, Albert Hill, Wyndham Street, West Queen Street with St Matthew's Church and St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Several ships are tied up at the wharves and the foremost ship, a paddle-steamer, is the Governor Wynyard, the first steamer built in New Zealand.
