Description

No 203, an H class steam locomotive, 0-4-2T type, designed for use on the Rimutaka Incline. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber.

H class NZR 203, was built by Neilson & Co., Glasgow, and went into service on the Rimutaka Incline in November 1886. Written off in March 1956. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
