The collection is divided into the Library (L) series and the Archives (A) series. The L series contains material from sources relating to Fiji, Pitcairn Island and the British Consulates in the Western Pacific. It includes private journals, corporate records, reports of British Consulates and periodical publications. Items of note include the journal of Rev David Cargill, 1842-1843; Planters' Association of Fiji; The land tenure of Fiji..., 1882; Fiji, Council of Chiefs, proceedings..., 1875-1960. The originals of the L series material are held by several institutions as well as the National Archives of Fiji.
The A series contains archives held by the National Archives of Fiji. The records relate to the Fiji Immigration Department and to Pitcairn Island. It includes: Fiji. Immigration Department. Central register of immigrants (Polynesians), 1870-1911 and Pitcairn Island. Records of the local government, 1819-1948.
