Description

Members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, with tools (hammers, saws, etc), at the trades wing of the Army School of Instruction, Trentham, 1943. Photographer unidentified.

Inscriptions: Verso - To replace key tradesmen for duty overseas, 32 Waacs have been chosen from all over New Zealand to train at the Trades Wing of the Army School on Instruction, Trentham, as electricians and intrument mechanics. "They are picking it up more quickly than men, as they don't have to unlearn the use of tools" their instructor commented.
