Looking east over Wellington city, the harbour and towards Roseneath, from Tinakori Hill. Shows Thorndon, Lambton city area and Government Buildings on the left. Glenbervie Terrace, Tinakori Road and Bolton Street Cemetery are in the left foreground. Photograph taken between 1885 and 1887 by Edgar Richard Williams.
Lambton Railway Station has been moved north from behind Government Buildings, therefore this photograph was taken after 1885. The Post Office burnt down and a new tower erected in 1887. This photograph shows the pre-fire tower and was therefore taken before 1887.
