Description: Taxi driver David Yee getting into his taxi, a Chrysler Valiant Ranger XL, at Wellington Railway Station. The owner of the taxi behind, John Leonidas, is getting into the passenger side. Photograph taken ca 2 February 1974 by an Evening Post staff photographer. Caption - Original Evening Post caption reads: 'Cabbie John Leonidas saw a young motorcyclist collide with a lamp post and die instantly. Only the day before a baby had been born in the back of his taxi...The men of Wellington's cab fleets see life in the raw. They see the city as it really is.' Driver originally identified as Leonidas. Corrected after contact by a family member of David Yee. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s) individual image on a 35mm strip.
