Application form submitted by Richard Hicks; history of the farm and Hicks family; photographs of family and farm
Original owner was John Thomas Hicks who took up land at Maungatautari (288 Luck at Last Road) in 1899. It passed to one of his sons, Joseph Hart Hicks and then to Joseph's son, Richard.
In 2007 the property was awarded the New Zealand Century Farm and Station award to mark over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
