Description

Volume is a handwritten and bound history of Taumarunui written in Indian ink, which includes illustrations in oils and ink, and a panorama photograph of Taumarunui town taken by S C Smith. Text covers the period 1850-1925 and includes the early history of local Maori; settler Alexander Bell and his wife Katarina; Taumarunui railway and the development of the first township.
