Letter describes in detail the town and harbour at Whangapoua, the schoolroom and his living quarters, the availability of food supplies, his cooking habits etc.
Thomas R Jones taught for one year in 1896-1897 at the small school at Whangapoua on the Coromandel Peninsula.
