Four sketches of travel by mail-coach and its perils. The coach and four horses negotiating a steep gorge road cut into a cliff-face (possibly Ngauranga or Ngaio Gorge although it is named Waikakariki, not a current name); the four horses balking at a stream; the driver urging the horses on; the coach and horses proceeding along the beach at speed.
