A bookplate design showing two women sitting and one standing in front of a whare with an elaborately carved front porch. The whole is surrounded by a border using Maori carving designs. Signed "C. Praetorius".
Design for one of A. H. Turnbull's bookplates. The commission was arranged by James Edge-Partington (1854-1930), who wrote to Turnbull about the completed designs in a letter dated 11 November 1908.
