Description

New Zealand World War I transports at Clyde Quay Wharf in Wellington, probably just before their departure 16 October 1914. Closest to the camera is HMNZT No. 9 (Hawkes Bay). Evening Post photograph.

Ships originally identified as Moeraki and Monowai leaving for Samoa, but nearest ship clearly has '9' painted on its hull.
