Shows a glamourous young woman seated, wearing pale blue underwear with a floral motif on embroidered inset panels. She is speaking on the telephone which she is holding up to her left ear.
Date estimated from the hairstyle fashion. Anderson’s Store in Leeston was advertising Sheenona interlock vests as early as 1942, and Sheenona silk and wool vests were available in Wellington in 1944. The brand seems to have been locally made, not being advertised other than in New Zealand. The model speaks into the mouthpiece of a typical 1940s black Bakelite telephone - this style of telephone was in use in New Zealand for several decades after the 1940s.
